This topic main research object is a college student formula of the frame. The research content including frame design, strength, stiffness and modal analysis. For the future of Nanjing University FSAE racing frame designed to provide a reference. First read contest rules, According to the competition to design the frame, Overall design frame shape, first determine the frame size, then the frame form, material, pipe specifications, adopted by the pipe connection mode are analyzed, then using CATIA three-dimensional modeling software to create a complete 3D model of the frame.In the finite element model import ABAOUS software for analysis and calculation. In order to verify the reliability of the model. Use the static analyzer frame for the static test, The static test results and finite element analysis results were compared, It is concluded that the finite element model is more accurate. Frame mechanical model is established and the working condition of frame condition, braking conditions in bending, torsion and rapid strength calculation and analysis, in the cases of turning and bending stiffness and torsional rigidity of frame analysis. From the analysis result shows that the maximum stress of the frame is much less than the material yield limit, the deformation is small, the stiffness is big enough.In order to evaluate dynamic perfomiance of the frame and the modal analysis was carried out on the frame. Including free modal and constraint modal analysis, Extracted the frame of the figure, the first ten order modes on its natural frequency and excitation frequency was analyzed, and also found that frame low order frequency distribution is reasonable, the frame does not produce resonance.
