Lightning to the transmission line as one of the biggest hidden danger of the operation of the power system, has always been difficult to solve the problem in the world. New arcing lightning protection gap as a new type of arcing lightning protection measures has been proved that can effectively solve this problem through a lot of practice. This paper based on the theory of new arcing lightning protection gap, Paralleled lots of past research, from the Angle of "micro", this paper analyses the characteristics of the arc truncation research, and derives the detonation airflow truncation arc boundary conditions from the perspective of "macro", further more, process for further optimization and analysis of arc thereby to arcing gap lightning protection truncation. Firstly,select the appropriate and unified reference system,and do qualitative theory analysis and characteristic about the explosion airflow coupling arc in the semi-enclosed space. Find out the point of penetration in the process of arc extinguishing arc truncation, set up suitable detonation mathematical model of explosion airflow. Analysis of detonation of the explosion airflow specific parameters in the semi-closed space characteristics and the influence on the detonation parameters such as pressure, velocity, energy, etc in the semi-enclosed space; Establish proper mathematical model of arc stability in semi-closed space conditions, with reference to the condition of arc stability. Establish a mathematical constraint equation that concluded the detonation air flow in the semi-enclosed space and constraint equation of arc stability of boundary conditions. On this basis, we can extinguish arc to semi-enclosed space for further optimization. Secondly, analysis of the explosion airflow software extinguishing arc using the ANSYS software. By changing the boundary conditions of airflow parameters, judge the effect of air flow extinguishing and damaging arc in the process, to get the purpose of optimizing explosion airflow in the semi-enclosed space truncation arc, and prove the validity of the boundary conditions. At the same time, in order to verify the optimization study of practical value in semi-closed space the explosion airflow extinguishing arc optimization, under the suitable collocation of insulation coordination, we can make an analogy through high voltage experiment of arcing gap lightning protection which satisfies the boundary conditions, and which does not satisfies boundary condition. And then, we can through experiment data verify the correctness of the optimization theory through the experiment data.
