Traffic departments and water conservancy departments of Jiangsu Province manage fifty-four locks, most of which are busy running state.The ship lockage is often in a crowded situation.Because of the time consuming of waiting for lockage,the operation efficiency of lock be lower. In order to improve the efficiency of the ship lockage,the optimum dispatch management of locks’operation modes is quite significant. This subject is based on the project of Beitang river lock in Changzhou,in which automatic and control is designed and developed in lock.According to functional requirements of the lock monitoring and control system,the system adopts network communication,programmable logic controller (PLC), superior machine configuration software (Kingview 6.55), a variety of sensors and field monitoring instruments, combined with the dynamic control and optimization of lock gate, The optimum dispatch management of lock’s operation modes is implemented in the subject.Local measure and control layer was designed by using programmable logic controller (PLC) as the core, to achieve gate opening,water level,electrical parameters and other related data acquisition, with fault alarm and emergency handing functions. The lock chambers equipped with human machine interface which intuitively display lock operation.Local measure and control unit through Ethernet communicating will transmit the lock operating status information, as well as real-time information collected by a various of sensors to the center data processing layer. As local measure and control layer accepts orders from remote supervision and control layer,lock equipment could be controlled by lock management center.SCADA server in center data processing layer which is responsible for the data communication with lock chambers constitutes a typical C/S mode monitoring system with the SCADA client side of remote supervision and control layer.In addition there are monitor workstation and video workstation in remote supervision and control layer.Functions such as real-time curve display,real-time management and history report query are implemented in monitor workstation..As a complement of the lock automatic and control system,on-site Images of lock are provided by the video workstation.Local measure and control layer,center data processing layer and remote supervision and control layer form the lock automatic and control system through Ethernet communication.To solve the problem that the ship lockage is poor efficiency,nonlinear control algorithm is adopt to improve response velocity and safety when the water lever changes in the lock.By dynamic control for the operating speeds of motor,the operation capacity of lock will be promoted under different water level conditions.
