The digital, intelligential and unattended substation is the trend of substation’s development. The new modern substation will improve some malpractice from several aspects, such as area covered cost, complex line and time-consuming maintenance problem. With the help of modern communication skills and monitoring technique to reduce the complexity of the substation, so that the layout is reasonable, the line is clear. The higher automation level, the more stability substation is.This paper is a detailed analysis of the function of practice of the integrated automation system of 110kVA substation in Hangzhou Power Supply Company of State Grid Corporation of China. Analysis on the main structure of the substation automation system, automation for A substation project in Hangzhou City, were studied as follows.(1) Hardware system of substation automation retrofit. According to the principle of substation automation retrofit and reformation scheme of the hardware system of a substation were discussed in detail, including the system design and hardware selection, onstruction of the hardware architecture of a substation automation system.(2) The design of substation automation system. On modification of hardware based, combined with substation automation to achieve the required function and design the software system of substation automation, including equipment state information acquisition system, monitoring system and fault processing system. Combined with the software and hardware design, the improvement effect of various technical indexes of A substation is analyzed.The 110kVA substation in Hangzhou Power Supply Company integrated automation system constructed by this study can not only meet the substation two relay protection and control of all kinds of functional requirements, and the system has high control precision, fast response speed, real-time data transmission capacity, safe and reliable operation of protection action, flexibility and extensible property, maintenance the advantages of convenience, thus greatly improving the reliability and economic operation of the transformer substation. For the national network of Hangzhou Power Company to achieve control integration has taken a solid step forward, and accumulated valuable experience for the future transformation of 110kV substation, the intelligent substation operation is greatly improved.
