The body is one of the four assemblies of automobile, not only to provide a comfortable environment for the occupants, at the same time, also to play a protective role, especially for military vehicles. With the change of the world strategic situation and the battlefield environment, the new type of protective body is especially important for military vehicles. Protective body has strong protection ability and ensures the light weight, which makes the vehicle has good motor performance.In this paper, Body protection, modeling, and dynamic performance of the three are considered. Body protection is used as a destination, the dynamic performance of the vehicle is regarded as the fundamental, through the vehicle design, body design, protective armor design and the body’s protective performance simulation research, the design of the protective body is completed.First of all, according to the vehicle’s performance index and technical parameters, we select the existing mature off-road vehicle as the modified object and carry out the reverse modeling, used to provide a reference for the subsequent body design. Secondly, through the modern design flow of automobile body, carry on the overall arrangement, the design and check of the man-machine engineering, the design of body shape, the air dynamics analysis to the protection body and propose the idea to the rear guard body shape optimization. Design the protective armor for the body by use armored material with composite structure. Through establish the composite structure of the protective armor based on the analysis model, as the weight the objective function to determine the best program of the protective armor. Then, use LS-DYNA to simulate protective properties of typical parts of the body, and through the way of the bullet vertical incidence the protective armor, the test results show that the protective method meets the expected requirements of protection. Finally, check the vehicle weight, the centroid position and the axle load distribution about the whole automotive front and rear.From the design of this research, the body protection, modeling and dynamic performance in this paper are coordinated and unified. For the future of the overall design of the body has a certain reference value.
