In this paper, the sealing performance of rotating shaft controllable flexible sealing has carried on the finite element analysis and experimental research. Explored the feasibility of the application of rotating shaft controllable flexible sealing, studied the influence of the control pressure and the structure parameters of the sealing ring on the working performance of the controllable flexible sealing, obtained the control method of controllable flexible sealing and provided guidance for the rational design and optimization of controllable flexible sealing structure.Firstly, summarized the research status of rotary dynamic seal, understood the research progress of it, and determined the contents of this paper. Illustrated the basic theory relates to the research content, provided theoretical guidance for theoretical analysis and experimental research of controllable flexible sealing performance.Secondly, analyzed the seal performance with finite element theory, According to the differences of controllable flexible sealing structure, established controllable flexible seal two-dimensional axisymmetric finite element analysis models, Studied the effect of control pressure and seal structures on the deformation distribution, the distribution of Von-Mises and the distribution of contact pressure. Got the distribution of contact pressure between sealing rings and the axis of rotation in the axial path, and achieved the effect rule of sealing ring width, the number of inner groove, the number of outer groove on the sealing performance, etc.Thirdly, developed a controllable flexible sealing performance text device, its hardware part composed of mechanical system, hydraulic system, measurement and control system, including seal bench, pump station, piston pumps, experimental console, IPC, data acquisition boards, sensors and electrical components, etc. Measurement and control software can edit the control interface and data curve interface, to enhance the visibility of experiment device running status and experimental data. Combining the hardware and the software parts, can implement the seal test, at the same time, detect, display, store related experimental data. Base on the experimental conditions, designed the experimental content and procedures.Finally, carried out the experimental research on the performance of rotary shaft controllable flexible sealing, collected the experimental data of control pressures and the highest working pressures of the sealing ring with different structures, under different speed conditions. Analyzed the relationship between the control pressure and the highest seal work pressure of the different seal structures under different speed conditions, obtained the effect rule of section width of sealing ring, outer groove of the seal ring, inner groove of seal ring on sealing performance, studied the relationship between the torque and control pressure when the rotating shaft is in stable rotation and critical sealing state.
