The permanent magnet coupling governor is mainly used for the energy saving speed regulation of the mechanical equipment. Have the advantage of soft start and no harmonic interference and so on.This paper mainly researched on speed control performance of permanent magnet coupling governor. The development of permanent magnetic drive technology is introduced,and the structure and working principle of permanent magnet coupling speed regulator are described in detail; Based on the linear layer theory, the mathematical model of permanent magnet coupling governor is established, and the calculation method of torque, axial force,power loss and efficiency of permanent magnet coupling governor is explored; The magnetic circuit of the permanent magnet coupling governor is designed, Based on the principle of reasonable and low cost, the permanent magnet material, the shape, the arrangement and form of the magnetic circuit are designed,The number of magnetic poles, the thickness of permanent magnet and the thickness of magnet plate were selected; Based on the ANSOFT software, the 3D model of permanent magnetic coupling governor is established, finite element simulation analysis is carried out, according to the simulation results, obtained the distribution of flux density, eddy current and eddy current losses and the relationship between axial force, eddy current loss, torque and speed difference; Finally, based on the experimental platform of permanent magnet coupling speed governor, the torque parameters of permanent magnet coupling speed governor were tested, and compared with the simulation results, after study and analysis, obtained the results of the test data are consistent with the calculated data obtained by the simulation, shows that the simulation model is correct, and provides a reference for further research of permanent magnet coupling governor.
