Friction Pendulum System is an effective dry sliding friction system.In this paper, systematic research on the basis of summarizing the relevant results,Relying on a steel frame with friction pendulum isolation in Kunming,On the Design and Analysis of friction pendulum isolation system are studied in detail.Because there is lacking system study of friction characteristics between polished stainless steel and PTFE,This paper quoted the studies of Constantinou, Mokha and Zayas.In this paper, through the vertical rigidity test, Get the vertical stiffness of friction pendulum bearings.By using nonlinear connecting elements in SAP2000,A steel frame structures with friction pendulum isolation in Kunming is studied by the plastic dynamic time history analysis of frequent earthquakes、fortification earthquakes、rare earthquake and super rare earthquake,Through the analysis, the FPS system was found to have no functions under frequent earthquake, and under fortification earthquake begin to work,Under the rare earthquake,the system function well,all indexs meet the per-set limits(the limit of bearing compressional stress、the limit of bearing vertical lift off the limit of bearing horizontal displacement),by super rare earthquake the super struction appear few beam hinges appear in isolation structure,all of them being IS and IO stage,all of bearings meet the limit of bearing horizontal displacement,only two bearings exceed the limit of bearing vertical lift off.And study the horizontal residue displacement in rare earthquake,the displacement (8mm) is 7% of the limit of bearing horizontal displacement(110mm), It has an excellent reduction charactristics.The friction factor between PTFE and Polished stainless steel is affected by slip velocity、contact surface stress、contact surface roughness、PTFE and lubricant,this paper study lots of friction factor,the result show horizontal displacement become low when friction factor bigger,and the horizontal displacement is 53mm below the limit of bearing horizontal displacement,the system have great safety margin.With reference to foreign specifications,Developing pilot programmes for the support, includes vertical stiffness test、high speed compression-shear test、plate friction test, quality requirements and acceptance.
