Air filter is one of the essential parts of the vehicle engine air intake system, the main function is to filter out the dust and impurities into the engine intake system, to provide clean fresh air for the engine, the performance of the air filter directly affects the output power and service life of the engine. Because of the use of the mine vehicle environment is bad, the dust concentration in the air is very big. Therefore, how may reduce the air filter air resistance loss and improve the ability of mine vehicle air filter for filtering impurities, has been the problem of filter industry.In this paper, the parameters of the air filter of the vehicle engine are determined according to the use environment of a certain manufacturer, and the geometric model is established in the Works Solid 3D platform, establish the control equations and boundary conditions are determined by using the basic theory of fluid mechanics, the flow field is calculated using the ANSYS ICEM software to generate three-dimensional unstructured grid and the application of porous media model paper filter, air filter internal flow simulation using CFD simulation the software of FLUENT, summed up the air filter of internal pressure contours and the velocity distribution; and the air filter entrance position as optimization variables, discusses the influence of position change for the internal flow field of the air filter; the simulation results show that the air filter entrance in the middle position of the air filter, air filter internal flow evenly, each air filter some of the pressure loss is smaller.Finally in view of the shortcomings of the filter model put forward measures for improvement and optimization results are simulated in detail the internal flow field, the air cleaner of internal pressure and velocity field distribution, for enterprises to improve the filter provides theoretical basis; through this analysis, fluent as as one of the means of air filter design, which can not only reduce the cost of development, design work provides a direction.
