The conventional submersible pump soft method to the regulation of voltage is discontinuous; serious secondary pulse is always existed in the startup of submersible pump. The thyristor series submersible pump with soft start-up equipment has high expectations for the consistency, trigger pulse synchronization of the thyristor within the application. The parameters will have a certain degree of change after the thyristor used for a period of time while the equalizing performance will be reduced,which is easy to cause a whole bunch of components damage. And once is damaged,it is difficult to rebuild. It has some shortcomings such as the larger start current and the longer start time when submersible pump uses the traditional current-limited startup, which can’t achieve the optimal control of the starting current and the starting time. Therefore, it is easy to cause the large capacity pump comsuming high-energy during starting up.The paper studied a soft start-up equipment of high voltage based on variable reactor which can be applied in the engineering technology when submersible pump uses soft start-up equipment with thyristor. On the analysis of the principle and control model of the SCR adjusting voltage circuit and the structure of Thyristor series soft starter, the soft start-up equipment with variable reactance is proposed in the paper. The soft start theory of the soft start-up equipment with variable reactance is studide by analyzing the structure and the principle of the thyristor with series variable reactance and the mathematical model of variable reactor. The paper introduces the fuzzy control, adaptive control strategy on the control strategy of the soft starter. Finally the fuzzy self-adaptive PID controller was designed based on the fuzzy adaptive control theory which was applied to PID control of submersible pump. Moreover, aiming at the problems that the submersible pump adopts the traditional current-limiting starting method, the fuzzy adaptive control strategy is introduced in the paper. And PID parameter online self-tuning was realized by using fuzzy control to optimize control the starting current and the startup time of submersible pump.In this paper, the simulation model of the control based on fuzzy adaptive PID control for the soft start system of submersible pump is set up in the MATALAB. The result of simulation indicates that the variable reactor can well solve the problem of high voltage thyristor. In addition, compared with the traditional way of current limiting soft start, the current limiting startup mode adopting fuzzy adaptive PID control strategy can effectively reduce the starting current of submersible pump in order to optimize control the starting current and the startup time of submersible pump.
