Appropriate concrete must be used to satisfy the requirements of dam construction, reduce costs, preserve natural environment and accomplish the mission of sustainable development because of the large construction quantity and capital outlay, high fly-ash content dam concrete is one of the concrete which can obtain such effect. So far, there are some research on high fly-ash content dam concrete, but more research is still required.According to the dam construction in the southwest of China, the method of optimizing concrete mix proportion and physical-mechanical properties of high fly-ash content dam concrete are researched,and then obtain the optimized concrete mix proportion and the data of physical-mechanical properties to supply dam construction with reference and guidance.Meanwhile, a comparative analysis between high fly-ash content dam concrete and high fly-ash content normal dam concrete is given to supply the further research on high fly-ash content normal dam concrete with basis.The major contents are summarized as follows:(1) methods of defining mixture proportion of high fly-ash content dam concrete;(2) researches in mechanical performance of high fly-ash content dam concrete;obtained impact of water binder ratio, content of fly ash and gradation of coarse aggregate on the mechanical performance of high fly-ash content dam concrete;(3) experimental study on adiabatic temperature rising for high fly-ash content dam concrete; obtained impact of water binder ratio and gradation of coarse aggregate on adiabatic temperature rising of high fly-ash content dam concrete;(4) analysised the difference between high fly-ash content dam concrete and high fly-ash content d normal am concrete in design concept, performance characteristic and scope of applicability.
