As the turbo technology has being widely used in car engines, people pay more and more attention to the noise question caused by centrifugal compressor. However, the research of compressor noise started later and the internal flow in compressor is three-dimensional unsteady, it is difficult to grasp the mechanism of compressor noise. How to effectively control the compressor noise is the effort of the automobile manufacturing enterprises and turbocharger manufacturing enterprises.In the paper, a certain type of centrifugal compressor is the object. The structure of inlet in compressor is optimized, which can reduce the flow of surge line and improve the gas pulsating condition in compressor.First, surge point of centrifugal compressor is simulated by the method of three-dimensional steady viscous turbulence. By analyzing the impeller flow field in surge line, two kinds of groove-structures have being designed at inlet, one is circular groove structure and the other is discontinuous straight groove structure. All of them can reduce the surge phenomenon in compressor.Next, use the fluid model to carry on the simulation computation about the above-mentioned structures and get two different optimized solutions respectively. Then compare the compressor performance of the two optimized solutions by experiments. The results show that circular groove structure compressor has a better surge flow than discontinuous straight groove structure.At last, this paper uses the method of three-dimensional unsteady viscous turbulent flow and the nonlinear harmonic model and gets the flow characteristics and noise frequency histogram of the original compressor and the compressor with circular flux and spiral groove in recent surge condition. Then, analyze the pressure pulsation, speed pulsation and noise distribution on the flow field of the two compressors. The conclusion is that the compressor with a circular groove structure can effectively reduce the noise in surge line.
