Engineering vehicle equipment plays an irreplaceable role in national construction projects as the rapid development of industrial modernization. At present, a plenty of old model on-board equipments of engineering vehicle is still in use. Although these old equipments can meet the demand of basic monitoring, the deficiency is visible. For instance, the lack of multi-function, insufficient of communication capability, unable to meet the increasing complexity of construction conditions, the cost of maintenance and elimination is inevitably high. Thus, based on research of sensor acquisition and video monitoring technology, a solution of informatization transformation for the old engineering vehicle terminal is proposed and realized in this paper.Considering of the requirement and the technical indicator of on-board terminal design, S5PV210 is chosen as the core processor of the terminal to start the development of corresponding platform in commonly used scenarios. On the hardware design of the terminal, the base board of core chip, data collection board, the base board of 3G module are designed in this paper. Of which, the base board of core chip is equiped with A/D conversion, video capturing, communication interfaces modules and can provide the core board with power as well. The demand of acquisition requirements of 4-channel sensor simulation parameters and 2-channel digital signal parameters can be satisfied by data collection board, moreover, it can also provide the whole terminal with power. And 3G module is responsible for wireless network transmission of both sensor parameters and video images.On the software design of the on-board terminal, Linux operation system is transplanted on the hardware platform, and the device driver for A/D module and video decoder module is programmed on the Linux operation system. In terms of sensors, the API of Linux are used to realize the collection of its data, and the method of Socket based on TCP protocol are adopted to send the parameter data by 3G wireless network. the video collections by V4L2 software framework, H.264 video compression, video transmission by UDP/RTP transport protocols are finished, which are under Linux OS in the process of video surveillance. Moreover, this paper brings out a solution to establish video servers through FFmpeg and FFserver methods based on B/S software framework, which is aimed at video surveillance. In the end, the design of remote application upgrade is achieved based on FTP remote transmission technology.Besides, the functional tests of terminal are carried out. Functional tests show that the design of terminal can properly meets the expectation when compared with technical qualification.
