Permanent magnetic coupling was born of the permanent magnet drive technology. There are many advantages in the permanent magnetic coupling, such as non-contact transmission, soft start, and overload protection and so on. After the high performance permanent magnetic materials NdFe B was discovered, the copy of the Permanent magnetic coupling was reduced greatly, people more and more intentioned and researched to it. Different styles and different functions couplings were developed, such as disc permanent magnetic couplings, drum permanent magnetic coupling, torque-limiting type magnetic couplings, adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling and so on. The application of permanent magnetic coupling has been increasingly wide.Adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling can change the output speed and output torque through changing the gap between copper ring and permanent magnetic plate. The modern adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling had many defects,including Complex structure, inconvenient adjustment, big moment of inertia. This paper developed a new type of disc asynchronous adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling based on a motor(Y132M-4) with 7.5kW, 1440r/min. New type adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling have many advantages such as low cost, easy to control. Then respectively using two methods that numerical calculation and finite element simulation to rotating torque transmission rod intensity, found that the torque transmission rod can meet the mechanical properties.We need to optimize the parameters of magnetic drive after designing the new adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling. Building model of magnetic drive in the ANASY Maxwell, and then controlling variable, simulation analyzing these parameters, we can find out that the best number of permanent magnet is 12, the best thickness of permanent magnet is 30 mm, the best thickness of copper ring is 5mm,the minimum gap between copper ring and permanent magnetic plate is 2mm, the maximal gap is 20 mm.Governor mechanism is the important part of the new adjustable speedpermanent magnetic coupling. The quality of regulating performance directly affects the coupling performance. To study the performance of speed control system,mathematical model of servo drive system and lead screw transmission system were derived at first, and then analyzing the model that associated the two model in the MATLAB Simulink. From the simulation results, after adding the encoder feedback,speed control performance has improved, choosing the right after the amplifier parameters, the system has good speed regulation performance. The coupling meet the requirements.After finishing the design and study of the new adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling, the control plan should be design, so that the new coupling can meet the requirements at work. This article first has been clear about the new adjustable speed permanent magnet coupling requirements, design the servo control system for the operation of the control circuit diagram, and then write the PLC control program, the system can run normally, and test the program with Siemens S7-200 CN finally. The experimental results show that there are no errors in the program, the PLC can run normally.Above all, the new adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling not only can solve the problems in the current adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling, also has the advantages of low cost, easy to control. Through analysis, we can find new adjustable speed permanent magnetic coupling in the mechanics, the permanent magnet drive, and speed performance can meet the requirements.
