As an important means of transport, vehicle has consumed vast natural resources and caused serious environmental pollutions while greatly facilitating of our life. Vigorously developing environment-friendly new energy vehicle is an effective measure of mitigating petroleum shortage and controlling environmental pollution. Many countries in the world advocate green travel and support the development of new energy vehicle industry. Environment-friendly, high-efficiency and zero-emission electric vehicle is always at the center of strategic layout of new energy vehicle development in China.Electric vehicle of vehicle mounted power supply and motor drive has entirely different power source from traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, greatly simplifies internal structure and significantly improves the flexibility of internal layout and freedom of modeling. However, modeling design features that significantly distinguish electric vehicle from traditional vehicles are yet to be formed. In this thesis, the author attempts to explore unique modeling design language of electric vehicle, analyze aesthetic preferences and commuting needs of young consumers aged 25-29, propose creative design ideas of electric vehicle suitable for urban commuting and design an intelligent and high-efficiency concept electric vehicle meeting urban commuting needs.In the first part, modeling design ideas of representative electric vehicles of research value are analyzed, electric vehicle models reversely developed based on the traditional vehicle platform, electric vehicle models developed on the electric vehicle platform and electric vehicle models based on conceptual design of urban commuting are research respectively, and motor property manifestations and modeling design trends of existing electric vehicles are summarized, the design positioning and creative modeling design language of electric vehicle for urban commuting are proposed. The second part presents quantitative statistical analysis on psychology, behaviors and potential needs of users to elaborate the living habits and fashion preferences, considerations for car-buying, personalized attitude, vehicle model comments and aesthetic preferences of young consumers aged 25-29. In the third part, the author designs a concept electric vehicle suitable for urban commuting by design innovation practices based on theoretical research in the earlier stage and fully displays the flexible, silent, technological and harmonious modeling language features of electric vehicle.
