Because of its portability and larger traction, power-driven winching is widely used in the setting up of the electric lines during its construction and maintenance, thus it’s of great engineering application. Based on its problems appeared during the design process, the key parts are calculated and analyzed in this paper, mainly following the next several aspects:1. The load during the powered winching’s working process is studied, as well as its classification. The calculation method of the key load, permissible stress and safety factor is also introduced, including the static strength and fatigue strength of a part. Lastly, the model of the gears in the current divider box is constructed, and the finite element method is used to analyze their strength, the result shows that the designed gear box satisfies its strength requirement.2. The structure and stress of the wire rope is analyzed, which explains the properties of the wire rope very well. On the other side, the structure and the usual material of the drums, the force situation of the powered winching at steady state is calculated and analyzed. Lastly, the finite element method is used to analyze the stress of the drums under rated burden, then the distribution of the stress is got.4. During the working of the powered winchings, the tooth of the idle gear in the current divider box tend to lose efficacy, the failure mode includes tooth breakage, plastic deformation and wearing. To solve this problem, this essay carried out a scheme of improvement, through the theoretical calculation, the torque on the idle gear is decreased, the 3D model is built in UG, and then imported to ABAQUS so stress analysis of the modified structure is conducted there. Lastly, the bench test is conducted to verify the result above.
