| Biological diversity is to maintain stable biosphere based, since the industrial age, because of the population explosion, environmental pollution, biological resources overexploitation, global warming and other reasons, resulting in the urban habitat shrinking, crushing, isolated from each other and ecosystem degradation, eventually leading to biodiversity decreased rapidly. China is one of the richest biodiversity country, but because of the development of recent decades, urban biodiversity also subject to the negative impact of urbanization, and thus a threat to society sustainable development.Urban ecological corridor can connect different habitat patches, provide continuous habitat and mobile channel for urban species, improve the urban environment that has important meaning to maintain urban ecological system and protect urban biodiversity. At the same time, as a part of the urban green space system, urban ecological corridor also has recreation, aesthetics and education functions, which has a certain effect on improving the environment quality and people’s living standard. Beijing has planned several ecological corridor based on natural mountain and rivers or traffic trunk lines, but in the actual situation, these corridors are often over pursuit of recreation, production functions, but in the richness of species, the richness of structure and other aspects are far from achieving the requirement of biodiversity protection. In order to protect the urban biodiversity, the author puts forward five principles in planning urban ecological corridors, they are:ecological priority, according to local conditions, multi-functional, holistic and systematic, multi-level. The urban ecological corridor planning program can divide into three parts:the preparation, the planning stage and the later period management. Through intensive study on corridor connectivity, width and component, combine with the specific circumstances in Beijing City, the author thinks that in the process of urban ecological corridor planning, planners should pay more attention on the biodiversity protection, adapting to the urban natural basal, increasing the development of native tree species utilization, and increasing the quantity and quality of tree species in ecological corridor. The rational allocation of plant community, the formation of complex layer structure with grass and shrub, can also provide diverse habitats for urban species. Moreover, establishing multi-level ecological corridor network can fully protect biodiversity at different levels. |
