In recent years, the cable line has become widely applied in the large power electronical supply network for the advantage of strong adaptability, good concealment and high efficiency. With the increase of power network operation load and cycle, the research of cable line fault detection and location technology has become one of the main focuses of the industry. As the cable line was buried deep under the earth which caused greater difficulties for the fault detection and maintenance of the cable net and higher precision requirements for the cable fault location. Through the applicability analysis of the common current cable fault detection methods, a satisfactory cable fault location method was still cannot be found. Then improve the research of developing a cable test positioning technology with the advantages of strong applicability and simple operation is quite necessary for the stable operation of the power supply network and the normal work and life.This dissertation has reviewed the research status of power supply network cable fault detection and location technologies in the world and summed up the main process of conventional cable fault detection. Completed hardware and software designation of the cable fault detection system on the basis of pulse method. Realized controlling of the output pulse signal parameters such as pulse width, frequency, cycle by the input and output module. Attained the display function of the test results of the reflection pulse signal through the system receive module.The post-processing method of feedback pulse signal and analysis cable position system feedback signal postprocessing steps were put forward based on the wavelet denoising theory. Carried out the 10 kV cable fault problem locating simulation with the rised algorithm on the MATLAB platform and made the positioning accuracy analysis. Demonstrated the feasibility of the application the localization algorithm and pulse feedback signal analysis in actual power supply network cable fault detection and location problems.
