In remote areas and islands which are not connected with the large power grid, microsources and power loads constitute an independent microgrid to solve the problem of power supply. Therefore, it’s important to optimize the allocation of each microsource’s capacity. This is not only related to the reliability of the entire microgrid system, but also largely determines the economy and rationality of the system when it was planning.First of all, this paper analyzes the research significance of the renewable energy and microsources. Discuss the common types of independent microgrid which was constituted by microsources and power loads. Research the working principle and characteristics of the photovoltaic power generation, wind power, battery and diesel generator. Then establish their mathematical models.Secondly, considering the system reliability, economy and environmental protection of system, take the minimum loss of power supply probability, the minimum daily cost of total investment, the minimum power wasting rate as the optimization goal. The configuration number of each microsource is used as the optimization variable. On the basis of fully meeting the constraint of the load power supply reliability, the constraints of the limitations of local resources, the battery state of charge and the maximum allowable charge or discharge power are taking into account. Then construct the optimal allocation model of independent microgrid. Follow the principles of renewable energy supply priority. According to the natural conditions, this paper discusses the optimal allocation strategy under three kinds of situations to meet the different needs of load in different periods. Finally, this paper proposes random walk-genetic hybrid algorithm by combining the advantages of genetic algorithm and random walk optimization algorithm. The hybrid algorithm has strong global search ability and strong partial search ability. It is suitable for solving the optimization configuration problem of microgrid. This paper tests the convergence and optimization result of the hybrid algorithm and compares the performance of the hybrid algorithm and genetic algorithm by simulating the numerical example in MATLAB software. It verifies that the hybrid algorithm is more superior and effective. Then analyze the changes of SOC of the battery and discuss the relationship of loss of power supply probability, power wasting rate and the total investment costs. And verify the correctness of optimal allocation model which is established in this paper.
