At present, China’s industrial grid construction is in the rapid development period, the grid company as the representative of the main industrial is to build a special high-voltage industrial grid as the backbone, various levels of industrial grid in the modern smart grid of coordinated development. With the construction of UHV industrial grid and other high voltage industrial network, it is necessary to study the transient overvoltage in different types of industrial system. It is the main basis for determining the insulation level of industrial network. Different types of transient over voltage have different characteristics, which need to be analyzed and studied based on different physical models. The internal overvoltage which include operating overvoltage and transient overvoltage in electric industrial system is the conversion of electromagnetic energy in the industrial system,resulting in transient or longer persistent time volatge which is higher than rated voltage of industrial grid and voltage of electrical devices may face a threat to rise, it inevitably exists in industrial grid construction and as a type of overvoltage. The industrial frequency overvoltage is a kind of temporary overvoltage.Because of the high voltage transmission system, the calculation of the electromagnetic transient over voltage can be simulated by EMTP, so this paper is based on the 500kV of the standard program ATP-EMTP, which is based on the graphic preprocessor called ATPDraw. Different types of overvoltage are used the different overhead line model based on different physical models,to analyse the no-load long line capacitance overvoltage, breaking overvoltage and closing overvoltage model under different types of transient simulation. At last,achieve the integration of switching voltage and the frequency overvoltage of no-load long line,.make the simulation analysis of the breaking voltage chain the frequency overvoltage of no-load long line which makes the model more realistic.In this model, focus on the capacity of suppression effect with the installation of shunt reactors and no installation of shunt reactors in two different cases for the generation of the breaking overvoltage chain no-load long line overvoltage.
