Small spacing tunnel is a new type of structure form. In recent years, It has become more and more widely used in the railway and highway construction because of its unique adaptability and superiority. Small spacing tunnel is a type of tunnel patterns which combines the advantages of the independent double caves and the arch tunnel, it overcomes the defects of complex construction, sensitivity to structural deformation, difficulty to ensure the construction quality and safety in the arch tunnel, and it is easier to control the cost and the waterproofing work.This paper focuses on a small spacing tunnel, bases on numerical simulation in excavating and supporting process and the in-field inspection. To complete the supporting stability analysis and propose specific construction methods, research has been done as follows:(1) Summarizing the common theory of tunnel support and having theoretical calculation in surrounding pressure of the small spacing tunnel.(2)Combing with actual geological conditions, the excavation and the supports of the small spacing tunnel has been simulated, and the systematic analysis of the simulation results has been done.(3) According to the measurement information of the small spacing tunnel, it’s support system is stable and reliable after comparing the measured data value and the permissible data value.
