In our country, medium and small sized bridges occupy an important position in bridge construction and play an important role in the transportation lifeline. However, in the process of actual operation, the phenomenon such as bump at bridge-head, breakdown of expansion joints occurs frequently, which affects the bridge life and traffic safety seriously. In order to solve the problem, the bridge forms of continuous deck’s beam bridge and jointless bridge are applied. Although the continuous deck structure is widely applied, there are still some problems that need further discussion at present because of the lack of theoretical research. The integral abutment, which involves the interactions among beam, abutment and soil, is easily affected by temperature variations and subjected to complicated forces. This thesis combines the two bridge forms and proposes the integral abutment-continuous deck’s beam bridge. This bridge form reserves the advantages of the continuous deck structure and the integral abutment. The structural behavior of integral abutment-continuous deck’s beam bridge is studied in this thesis and the main contents are as follows:1. The development process and research status of the continuous deck’s beam bridge and the jointless bridge at home and abroad are summarized, and the integral abutment-continuous deck’s beam bridge is proposed2. The basic construction forms and characteristics of the continuous deck structure and the integral abutment are illustrated.3. Combining the interaction between integral abutment and earth, the calculation theory of the earth pressure and calculation methods of the earth resistance are analyzed.4. The basic method by using the theory of finite element to analyze the integral abutment-continuous deck’s beam bridge is discussed.5. Questions about the integral abutment-continuous deck’s beam bridge are studied, such as design forms of the connection path and mechanical characteristics under the action of integral temperature increasing and decreasing or other kinds of loads.
