As a core sub-network of Internet of Things (IoT), Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) is a specific application of IoT in the field of Intelligent Transport System (ITS). Research on the key technologies of VANET, develop of VANET products, and development of VANET industry, will bring great social effects and economic benefits. However, how to evaluate the effectiveness of technological industry and testify VANET services, is an urgent task for major companies and research institutions. At present, the field test to the technology is still facing a lot of problems:1) high cost; 2) risk of danger; 3) cannot be controlled accurately; and 4) no reconstructability. Therefore, making use of VANET simulation for research has become an effective technical approach, while simulation experiment is regarded as an important way to analyze different protocols and architectures, and testify VANET services.The main work is as follows:1. This paper has taken note of all design details about iTETRIS (VANET simulation system) from macroscopic to microcosmic. It is also recorded that how to establish communication between modules in source codes, and how to build up user-defined traffic simulation scenario for demand. Through an experiment, it shows that simulation running for analysis is more intuitive and more flexible, compared to pure mathematical analysis.2. This dissertation implements a customized GUI interface to develop and configure for the iTETRIS, which is based on mature secondary development of the iTETRIS. The interface is about solving problems of high threshold of private customization, too repetitive work, and cumbersome configuration. Through a demonstration, we accomplish the customized design by using the GUI interface, twice more efficiently than original file configuration editing. It allows users to focus more on individual design and thinking, avoiding cumbersome work as much as possible.3. In terms of the situation that analysis for vehicle real data is mostly theoretical, we embed a new module in the iTETRIS to process vehicle real data. A mechanism is designed and implemented to import and analyze vehicle real data for graphic simulation. Through the iTETRIS, it can customize scenarios and generate traffic flow, so that we can check effect of simulation intuitively.Based on the above three points, the VANET simulation platform based on vehicle real data is an achievement of this dissertation. It gets over the difficulty of scene simulation for vehicle real data effectively, restoring the real traffic conditions virtually.
