Public transit priority has become the general consensus of city managers and the traffic scholars for solving the urban transport problems. As we know, bus is the foundation and principal of urban transit system, and has the characteristics of less investment, shorter construction period, wider coverage and operating flexibility, so the effective supply of bus determines the level of public transportation service. Bus stop is the dominant node of public transit network, however, its insufficient service has cause more and more bus queuing. In order to improve supply level of stop, designing the system of bus stop basing on the intelligent transportation technology and presenting models for calculating stop capacity have important guiding significance in improving stop capacity and realizing the balance between stop supply and demand.Regarding parallel channels bus bay as a guide, this paper proposed the double-harbor-single-platform bus stop, and analyzed the effect of four factors influencing the capacity of bus stop, which was based on the analysis of vehicles stop process in double-harbor-single-platform, then designed a real-time-guiding system for the double-harbor-single-platform bus stop, which was aimed to reduce the probability of queuing and leaving the stop and improve the capacity of the bus stop, meanwhile, made it clear that the implementation process of the functions and components of the system, and introduced the method of real time dynamic distribution of berth.After analyzing bus dwelling feature in the real-time-guiding on the double-harbor-single-platform bus stop, this paper proposed the model for the time of parking, and focused on the establishment of the out time sub-model and in time sub-model. Finally, this paper brought forward calculation method for the capacity of stop under the system above, which was based on the definition of capacity.Through examples, the capacity of the double-harbor-single-platform bus stop was calculated on condition of different berths and arrival rate, and VISSIM was used to simulate and calibrate the simulation mode.Finally, in order to analyze the effect of the new stop on improving bus stop capacity, the paper made a comparative analysis of the capacity of the bus stop at the double-harbor-single-platform and single channel through the simulations.
