The Study About A New Type Of Reversible Proportioning Belt Conveyor

The reversible proportioning belt conveyor is special conveyor developed from stationary conventional belt conveyor. The reversible proportioning belt conveyors made in China according to current standards cannot meet requirements in operation with a lot of shortages in environment protection, safety of operator human elements, and investment and maintenance costs. A new type of reversible proportioning belt conveyor is needed to solve the problems brought about from the standard reversible conveyor.A new type of reversible proportioning belt conveyor is presented in the paper. Much improvement is made in the structure of the new conveyor over the standard reversible conveyor. Obvious advantages are achieved in environment protection, prevention of belt sway, and operational costs. The new conveyor can meet requirements of engineers and operators in environment protection, safety of operator, and investment and maintenance costs.Design calculations and part selection for the new conveyor are discussed in the paper. Resistances to the conveyor, driving force and power of the pulley, and tension of belt are calculated in the static and dynamic mode. Most suitable motors, reducers, idlers, cleaners, and other parts are selected for the conveyor. Some components are optimized in design for application. Finite element analysis is made for stresses on drive pulley and stress concentration point is fixed. Driving pulley is designed with rational stresses and improved structure.The new type conveyor prospects well in spreading application.
