The development of urbanization leads to the natural environment of the city under threat, meanwhile, the quantity and quality of green leisure space are becoming more and more difficult to meet the growing demand of recreation. In 2013 Inner Mongolia Housing Department proposed to build a city greenway and in 2015 the "100 mile Green Road" of Baotou City was completed. Currently Inner Mongolia is still lack of greenway construction experience, so it is necessary to study how to build a reasonable greenway network in Inner Mongolia to exert the function of recreation, green transportation, ecology, science and education, and to continue the regional culture. Through documentary study and case study, this article summarizes the basic method of urban greenway planning; the clarification of basic situation of greenway resources is realized through field visit; the planning is based on the specific method of GIS suitability analysis, while the greenway planning is coordinated with urban master planning and green space system planning it is also combined with greenway resource distribution, thus the greenway line selection is determined, fatherly exploring the greenway planning methods on city level, finally the city greenway system is founded. |
