The harmonic is one of the important parameters about power quality of electric system. With the power electronic devices that are more and more widely used in the electric system, harmonic pollution problem has become a research hotspot of power supply system. This text makes a study of detection and suppression study about harmonic, aimed at urban rail power supply system, the main is as follows:Firstly, building the urban rail traction power supply system with three-phase asynchronous machine load, the text adds invertion device into 24-pulse rectifier unit. We can get a more actual and reliable characteristic harmonic of urban rail traction power supply system. Then, the single-phase detection method based on active current separation is applied to harmonic detection of three-phase electric system. By means of comparative analysis, the text demonstrates that it has also a better detection performance in the traction power supply system. In addition, aimed at the flaw of errors in tracking based on traditional compensation control strategy, the text combines space vector control based on current hysteresis with DC-side capacitor voltage control, and compensates it again. By means of the simulation, we know that it’s correct. Finally, combined detection method based on active current separation with space vector control by current hysteresis, they are applied in the HAPF of urban rail electric system, with setting and optimizing parameters. In allusion to different condition of electrical power system, it turned out that the method has a nicer harmonic compensation performance, in each case.
