Hy-Vo silent chain is a kind of high-end product in chain transmission area. Comparing with the normal silent chain and roller chain, it has many characteristics such as: small polygon effect, smooth output, low noise and strong wear-resisting under high speed and heave load conditions. Based on the inheritance of advantages of Hy-Vo silent chain in single phase transmission, dual phase transmission system of Hy-Vo silent chain further decreased the polygon effect and the noise under high speed and heave load conditions. Therefore, the dual phase transmission of Hy-Vo silent chain could be regarded as a new type transmission system, and transmission performance is better than normal Hy-Vo silent chain drive system. Nevertheless, dual phase transmission system is not a simple addition of single phase transmission. The multi-variation, the design method and the application conditions are also radically different from the single phase one.According to the National Natural Science Foundation of China program “research of multi-variation and meshing theory for dual phase transmission system of Hy-Vo silent chain”(51305154) and “multi-axis high-speed silent chain system meshing design theory based on complex constraint boundary conditions”(51275207), and Jilin Province Science and Technology Planning Program “Research on Multiphase Hy-Vo Chain System Key Technologies”(20150204075GX). The overseas and domestic research status of Hy-Vo silent chain and dual phase transmission is explained minutely, and the design philosophy of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission system that is different from the single phase one is introduced. The basic theory of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission system is introduced, and the meshing mechanism is explained. According to the planar geometrical model of Hy-Vo silent chain, the polygon effect in dual phase transmission system is analyzed, and the deviation design basis is obtained. The rigid dynamic system models are built, and the fluctuation quantities of system center distance are analyzed. The Hy-Vo silent chain platform for dual phase transmission is developed.Based on the programming by VBA, the Hy-Vo silent chain plate-sprocket-cutter meshing system for dual phase transmission is built, and the cutting position of sprocket cutter in whole working process is captured. Combing the theory of the planar degree of freedom, the outer meshing theory of silent chain is pointed out. The mechanism of inner-outer meshing Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission is analyzed systematically. The meshing and positioning relations among the inner-outer meshing plates in the meshing process are obtained, and the phase relations of different meshing mechanism link are pointed out. The meshing period of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission is explained systematically.The polygon effect of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission and single phase transmission are contrastively analyzed by analytic geometrical method. The harmonious relations which between the variable pitch characteristic parameters is obtained. The deviation concept for meshing-in position and transitional position of Hy-Vo silent chain is pointed out, the relative deviation expression is deduced, and the deviation expression is verified through the dynamic simulation of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission. According to the polygon effect of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission system, the calculation basis of phase angle is pointed out.Through the secondary development of AutoCAD, the disposition method for parameters of Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission is pointed out, and the programming methods of outer meshing and inner-outer meshing Hy-Vo silent chain in dual phase transmission to design the plate are obtained. The common planer cutter model is built by programming, combing the technology that call the Visual LISP instruction at VBA platform,the design method for capturing the real sprocket profile is pointed out. The design platform for dual phase transmission system of Hy-Vo silent chain is developed by integrating the others function of module. Furthermore, the design platform could assist designer to select the parameters accurately, and to build the planer model rapidly. Therefore, the results of this paper have an important theoretical and practical significance.
