With an increasing number of cars, the traffic conditions become more and more complex. As a result, the traffic accidents take place frequently. There are many reasons that lead to the phenomenon, such as, the factor of the car itself, and the factor of human, and so on. When the main factor is confirmed, the attribute reduction of rough set theory is used. Therefore, there are theoretical significance and applied value to research on modeling and applying of automobile safety inspection system based on rough set.For the problem of the safety issues of vehicle, the passive safety of vehicle and the active security of vehicle are expounded detailedly. The fault diagnosis of engine is analyzed mainly on tne study of the passive safety of vehicle. Aiming at the problem of discretization of continuous attributes, the SOM discretization method is proposed. The minimal decision table is confirmed after dispersing the data of SOM based on the theory of rough set. And the decision rule is extract. Then, the model of the vehicle passive safety testing system which is based on the rough set is got. And the reason of breakdown is determined by the euclidean distance. The three factors, huanman, vehicle, and environment, and the relationship among them are involved on the study of the active security of vehicle. The martrix of the signal of vehicle and environment and the state matrix of the behavior and intention of drive is caculated. Through analyzing the data bank and training the artificial neural network, the relationship of weight between the signal matrix and the state matrix is got. And then, the model of vehicle active safety testing system is established. And the sample of neural network is simulated and tested. The results show that the drive behavior is achieved by the vehicle active safety system which based on the rough set.Through researching and analyzing the vehicle safety testing system, the number of accidents is cut down. Finally, the goal of safety-detection is achieved.
