Vehicular ad hoc networks(Ad Hoc Network Vehicular, VANET) as a special branch of the large mobile ad hoc networks, the nodes of the network is in fast moving vehicles, and movement of the vehicle nodes by restriction of the road planning and layout of the city. At the same time, the vehicle driving not rules also caused showed highly dynamic change in the network topology. The communication time between vehicle nodes is shorter than other traditional network, and the survival time of the link is relatively short. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, this paper chooses to improve the routing protocol of VANET to solve these problems. Due to the routing protocol is to a large extent in the aspects of network performance plays a decisive role, and only continue to improve the efficiency and stability of routing protocol in vehicular network, VANET wireless communication capability in mobile ad hoc network can reflect its strong advantages. This paper will combine encoding and routing protocol for vehicular networks, thereby improving the vehicle from the network throughput, transmission delay and channel utilization, and network performance, the specific contents as follows are shown.Firstly, the network architecture and topology of the vehicle is studied and analyzed. At the same time, according to the characteristics of vehicle network, the routing protocols are classified, and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.Secondly, the source node of the AODV(Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing) protocol in the vehicle network is composed of the topology and link state of the network. However, due to this kind of protocol can not be well adapted to the dynamic characteristics of the topology of the network, so there is no better performance in improving the performance of the network. And network encoding can use its own advantages, to make up for the lack of such agreement. Accordingly, this paper proposes a network coding based VANET routing protocol CVAODV(COPE-VANET-AODV)can effectively improve the network throughput of vehicular networks, transmission delay and channel utilization rate of performance. And the formation of a through the OPNET simulation platform 4 * 4 and 8 * 4 nodes of the vehicular network scenes, the improved routing protocol CVAODV application to actual communication simulation, simulation of vehicular networks of wireless transmission and communication process. At the same time, system simulation design achieve part of network simulation system frame, business simulation design and implementation are all detailed work. Finally, it analyzes the performance is obtained by the simulation experiment results of CVAODV routing protocols in different network scenarios of the network throughput, transmission delay and the channel utilization ratio, and according to the simulation results with AODV and DSR protocols were compared. Through performance analysis, it is found that the CVAODV routing protocol and AODV and DSR Protocol in the network throughput, transmission delay, channel utilization rate has improved, and high performance and two kinds of routing protocol, with certain theoretical research and practical application value.
