Recently, the number of electric vehicle has been rapid increment along with energy depletion and environmental pressure increasing. As the core components of electric vehicle, the technology of drive motor system has been developed which result in the structure of motor controller becoming more and more complex. So the reliability of controller gets the relation of the people.The reliability of drive motor system is researched in the paper.Considering the special working condition of the drive motor system used in electric vehicle, according to field and experiment date, and consulting the analytical method, the failure mode of controller is analyzed and the reliability model is built taking the circuit board, power device and sensors as the weak link to calculate and expert the reliability with the reliability model.In order to improve the reliability of controller, a fault diagnoses and fault tolerant method of current sensor in the controller is proposed in the paper. This method enhances the reliability of controller on the condition of not increasing any hardware cost.Combining the working condition of electric vehicle, the paper designs the reliability experiment stress on temperature and humidity to verify the reliability of controller.
