Tower is one of the most important facilities in petrochemical industry, oil industry and so on. It affects the production capacity, product quality and economic benefits of the entire unit. With the development of the industry, the tower facilities become larger and larger. So the structure of tower with frame appears. But because of the complication of the structure of the frame tower, there is still no authority of the design method. Without considering the coupling between the frame and the tower, there exists very serious hidden danger if design the structure with current design method.Under the background of a frame tower in construction, a model in the FEA calculation software ABAQUS is built in this paper and the natural frequency of the structure is calculated. As a reference of the calculated natural frequencies, a simplified model is built and experiment is conducted on the model.First, the modal test experiment is conducted on the simplified model and the first three order natural frequencies and vibration model of the single tower, single frame and the frame tower are gotten. A model in the software SAP2000 is also built to make a comparison between the calculated natural frequencies and the test ones. It proves the validity of the numerical model. Then, with the numerical model, the research of how the connection between frame and tower affects the structure’s natural vibration characteristics is conducted.Second, the experiment of the dynamic response is conducted. Dynamic load with different frequencies is added to the test structure, and the displacement response of the tower’s top is measured. |
