Rubber material has been widely used in passenger cars. According to preliminary statistics, there are up to one hundred kinds of rubber components on a normal car, such as tires, rubber bushing, shock absorbers, engine mount. Of course, the mechanic properties of those rubber components will have a significant influence on steering stability, security, vibration and noise of the car.High elasticity and large deformation is often the case with rubber material. So, it is quite an important and difficult thing to build up an accurate viscoelastic mechanical constitutive model for rubber materials. For this purpose, this paper has carried out some kinds of exploration work about the viscoelastic constitutive model of rubber material and its application, mainly includes the following aspects:First of all, conduct the related experiments about rubber material, set up uniaxial tensile test rig and parallel disc material test rig. Analyze the elastic and viscoelastic mechanical behaviors from the quasi-static uniaxial tensile experiment data, constant rate cyclic loading experiment data of uniaxial compression, stress relaxation experiment data and the DMA sweep frequency experiment data.Secondly, compare and analyze the existing integer and fractional viscoelastic constitutive model systematically. Deduce the formula of each index in detail, identify model parameters, and compare the application accuracy of each constitutive model. In addition, emphatically introduce the modified fractional order Zener viscoelastic constitutive model, deduce its generalized expression form and its numerical solution equation, and identify its model parameters. It turns out that the modified fractional order Zener model has higher model accuracy.Finally, some researches about the finite element model of rubber material have been done. Set up the hyperelastic constitutive model and Prony series viscoelastic constitutive model to simulate the creep and relaxation character of tread block rubber by using ABAQUS finite element software, the simulation results agree with the experiment results very well. Then set up hyperelastic- viscoelastic constitutive model and Bergstr?m–Boyce Hysteresis model to simulate the hysteresis property in the condition of cyclic load of uniaxial compression and the ball rebounce. Results indicate that the model can express the viscoelastic hysteretic properties of rubber material very well.
