In terms of reliability and guaranteeing low voltage power, compared to three-phase motor, multiphase motor has obvious advantages. Multiphase motor has smaller torque ripple, can continue to run under one or more open phases with high reliability. So in recent years, several papers do researches in the field of motor control hot spots. In this paper, mathematical model of multiphase motor, torque ripple analysis and vector control policy under good or fault conditions are conducted in deep research.Firstly, according to the unique multi-phase motor winding structure and magnetic analysis, establish a multi-phase motor mathematical model of harmonic fundamental coordinate system by space vector decoupling method, and demonstrates the general transformation of Vector Space Decoupling. And use this model to establish a dual Y shift 30° six-phase induction motor simulation model of the six-phase motor characteristics simulation.Then for multiphase motor smaller torque ripple features, in case of inverter power supply, complete multiphase motor currents, MMF and torque, etc. harmonic analysis. Description of the lowest order multiphase motor torque ripple frequency increase causes. On the basis of analysis of the adverse effects of asymmetric power to bring multi-phase motor, and using the six-phase induction motor mathematical model simulation results in sinusoidal excitation and the inverter power supply under analysis is verified.Research on the six-phase induction motor vector control strategies, one is decoupled d-q subspace space vector overall control strategy, the other is a two-phase winding two-vector control. Use both control strategy to control six-phase induction motor. Compare the pros and cons of simulation results under these two methods. And two-vector control is experimentally verified.Multi-phase motor under open phases can continue running, Based on this characteristic establish the multi-phase motor model under different fault situations. After the motor phase opening, there is rotating magnetic field distortion and a significant increase in the second torque ripple, which proposes suppressing torque ripple compensation control method. It changes the motor rotor flux orientation vector control during abnormal operation. When using directional phase compensation control, effectively inhibited the secondary order torque ripple and achieve smooth operation. This method is verified by the six-phase motor phase control simulations.
