The node is an important part of the safety performance of the whole frame structure system, and its structure and mechanical properties are complex. So it is one of the key research on the seismic performance of frame structures. The square steel tube concrete structure has been used more and more extensively owing to its so much advantages in the high-rise structure and the large span structure. At present, the research on seismic performance of concrete filled steel tube concrete column and composite beam is mainly focused on the exterior and interior partition. Based on this, the node between concrete-filled square steel tubular column which crossing by steel plate and combination beam is proposed in this paper. and the seismic performance of the node under monotonic and cyclic loading are discussed by ABAQUS. Then discuss the influence on seismic performance of the new node of different thickness of steel plate. In addition, the seismic performance of the proposed node is compared with traditional node. The specific research contents are as follows:Firstly, the proper material constitutive relations are selected, then five groups of three-dimensional finite element analysis model for node between concrete-filled square steel tubular column which crossing by steel plate and combination beam are established by the finite element software ABAQUS. The monotonic displacement load is applied at the end of beam. The influence of mechanical properties and failure modes under the premise of the different thickness of steel plate is researched. Results show that ultimate bearing capacity of the new node is not decreases strictly with the thickness of the steel plate decreases.Secondly, the hysteresis curves, skeleton curves, ductility performance, rigidity degradation and energy dissipation capacity of the new type node under the premise of the different thickness of steel plate are analyzed under low cyclic loading condition.Thirdly, three-dimensional finite element analysis model of traditional node between concrete-filled square steel tubular column and combination beam is established by ABAQUS. Then make comparisons on seismic performance between the new type and traditional node under low cyclic loading condition. Results show that hysteresis curve of the new node is more full than the traditional node. It shows that the new node can dissipate more energy than the traditional one in the earthquake.Based on the above research, it can be concluded that, both of the mechanical properties under monotonous loading and the seismic performance under cyclic loading of the new node are superior to the traditional one.
