The quick open shut is vital important for hydraulic gates since it is the barrier to assure the safety of the dam and the property and life of downstream people. The reliable operation and stable velocity control process of the gate crane electric control system have great influence to the crane’s accurate parking location.This paper discussed the characteristics of the control methods of hydraulic gate crane in used in Yun Feng hydropower plant and studied the walking positioning of crane control system. The technical retrofit scheme is determined by combining the hydraulic gate crane concrete operation content, two-dimensional fuzzy controller of walking and positioning system of the crane is designed and the fuzzy control rules and fuzzy control query table are established based on fuzzy control theory. PLC is used to realize the automatic control operation of the gate with the frequency control instead of rotor series resistance of original crane. This paper solved the network communication among the PLC, frequency converter and rotary encoder and completed the crane positioning fuzzy control of PLC program design.The laboratory test results show that the fuzzy controller, the fuzzy control rules and fuzzy control query table are effective in the walking and positioning system. The experiments verify the validity of the PLC program and reach the target of crane walking automatic control technique. The research work improves the automation level and work efficiency of the hydroelectric power station, reduces the intensity of labors. The achievement can be promoted and applied in the hydropower field.
