Metering pump is reciprocating pump which can realize the metering and transmission of fluid, it has a general characteristic of reciprocating pump, in addition, the flow can be adjust from 0% to 100% steplessly. Because of the irreplaceable role in the pump field, metering pumps have been widely used in oil industry, gas exploration, chemicals, oil refining, thermal power plants, mining, food, pharmaceutical, printing and dyeing, paper making, environmental protection, water treatment industry and some other industries.In this paper, to solve the problem of high temperature in the operation of a new type of triple metering pump, characteristics of internal structure and heat generating mechanism of metering pump are analyzed, and a mathematical model of heat transfer process in the metering pump is established. Temperature distribution in the metering pump transmission box is acquired after the numerical simulation, and the calculation results are compared with the measured values. The calculation results show that:numerical simulation results are credible and the simulation calculation can provide a theoretical basis for the structural optimization design of the triple metering pump.Based on this, the main heat transfer and design parameters of the triple metering pump transmission box are studied in this paper. Several important parameters affecting the heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer coefficient are focused on. According to the analysis results, the heat dissipation scheme of the triple metering pump transmission box is put forward:improve the surface roughness of the worm gear, add the lubricating oil circulation device, peripheral cooling fan, optimized the structure of the box fin. Through a large number of numerical calculations, the influence of different operating parameters and structure parameters on the temperature field of the transmission box is analyzed, and the feasible technical scheme of reducing the body temperature of the metering pump is put forward. The design and temperature filed of metering pumps are investigated, which has some guidance.
