Research And Application On Integrated Monitoring System Of High Voltage Cables And Cable Tunnels

In recent years, the investment on electric power infrastructure increased a lot with the development of urbanization. The use of high voltage cable and the length of cable tunnel increased gradually because of the benefits of cable including land saving, friend to environment and high reliability. But the growth rate of operation and maintenance personnel can’t meet the demand, the power company faced much pressure.With the construction of smart grid, the on-line monitoring for high voltage cable and cable tunnel has developed a lot. Now, high voltage cable comprehensive monitoring system has been put in practice in Beijing and Shanghai power company. The use of comprehensive system could realize the on-line monitoring of the cable and ancillary facilities, but defects still exist, like transition and analysis of the large amount of data, and the system has not been used in large area. All the defects lead that the monitoring system became an information isolated island.High-voltage cable and cable tunnel comprehensive monitoring system can completely change periodical maintenance and overhaul mode, as well as reducing manual inspection and maintenance costs. Via monitoring techniques, monitoring the operational conditions and operational environments of high-voltage cables, and detecting the defects and hidden dangers which can impact the operational security of the cables and enhancing the management level of high-voltage cables.This paper mainly focus on the researches and applications of the high-voltage cable and cable tunnel comprehensive monitoring system, including tunnel environment on-line monitoring sub system, cable manhole covers monitoring sub system, tunnel video monitoring sub system, distributed fiber optic on-line temperature measurement sub system, high-voltage cable metal sheath ground circuiting current on-line monitoring sub system, high-voltage cable partial discharge on-line monitoring sub system, as well as the data transfer, summary, analysis, and the researches and applications of the cable and cable tunnel concentrated monitoring platform.
