Zibo is the more developed area of Shandong Province, and the political and economic status is very important. However, the local water resources are very poor, the water shortage has seriously restricted the sustainable development of the economic and social development in the region. Therefore, it is necessary to construct the supporting projects as soon as possible, leading the Yangtze River water to Zibo, solving the problem of the supply for living and industrial water, making the benefits of the South to North Water Diversion Project maximize.This paper is mainly about the design of Xincheng Reservoir. By comparing the two schemedetermine of the extension of the Xincheng Reservoir and the extension of the Xincheng Reservoir & Newly build Fan Lin reservoir to determine the location of the expansion reservoir; By comparing the original reservoir surrounding dam heightening and new land of much affect the capacity of whether or not to meet the design capacity requirements determine the reservoir expansion project; By comparing with retaining wall increasing dam height and upstream 1:2.5 dam slope to increase dam height of two schemes of slope stability and leakage determine the optimal scheme of the heightening of dam sections; By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of dry masonry block stone and precast concrete slab slope protection and material purchase is convenient to determine the form of slope protection.
