Analysis Weld Factor Of Ship’s Fillet Weld

There is a lot of fillet weld in ship structure. It is difficult to calculate the size of ship fillet weld because of the complex ship and multifarious loads. Weld factor appears after a long time of engineering of the accumulation of experience. It brings great convenience for ship structure design by designer. After years of evolution, it became the weld factor specification table. How to prove the stipulations of weld factor in the current criterion for hull structure is safe, become an urgent problem to solve, as well as the aim of the study.The study argues the source and physical meanings of weld factor and deduces the strength calculating formulas of fillet weld. The study puts the weld strength of ship structure down to the calculation process of shearing strength of weld by using the calculation of the welding strength on steel structure, as well as presents the computational model of ship structure fillet weld and the computational formula of weld factor. And then demonstrates the computing method of weld with FEM method.Compares the calculation data of the real ship to verify the weld factor is correct and gets the safety level of weld factor by calculating practical ship.
