With the development of industrial revolution, the automatic industry has a development by leaps and bounds.The vehicle holdings of our country now is more than 10 million, is only a little less than America, which is about 2850 million vehicle holdings.With more and more vehicles in the aftermarket, a lot of kinds vehicle malfunction and traffic accidents become a focus of the society. Most of the traffic accidents are caused by the vehicles malfunction that were not discovered by the driver. As a result, it is very important to research and design a system that can be inspecting the status of vehicles remotely and reminding the driver the malfunction information.Based on the current situation, a system designed that can be used on the vehicles without any modification for vehicles. It can be used for monitoring the status of vehicle and inspecting the vehicles all the time.For this article, some key technologies including the OBD system, telecom data transmission and GPS system and the vehicle information management technology have been introduced. After the introduction of these technologies, the OBD dignostic agreement for current vehicles can be understood well, this is helpful and a preparation for the design of a common car-carried terminal; well understanding for the telecom data transmission and GPS system can provide the theretical basis for the design of the monitoring and inspecting remotely system; the vehicle information management technology is the key for the application of the remotely monitoring and inspectiong at time system.For the next, the article introduced the hardware composition of the remotely online inspecting and monitoring system, and also introduced the circuit structure design for each hardware component and the selection for the chip. Then made the circuit to be a physical hardware. At this time, the whole design and development for the remotely monitoring and inspecting system has been finished.After the finishing design and development for the whole system, the test for the system in vehicle has been done, for the purpose of whether there exists some malfunction. Through the whole test on vehicle, it was demonstrated that the system can reach the target for the project and can log vehicle data at time, transmit the data to the remotely monitoring system, the monitoring system can analyse and inspect at the same time to confirm whether there is a malfunction for the vehicle.
