Power transformer is the core of substation equipment in the power operation system, the safe and stable ability of the transformer directly affects the stability of power system operation. The faults often occurs partial discharge during the operation of the power transformer; partial discharge failure can cause a large power system fault, and even might bring huge losses to the power system. Due to the current transformer partial discharge monitoring system has a low accuracy and high rate of false positives, a sound and reliable transformer partial discharge monitoring system is extremely important.For the current transformer partial discharge monitoring system have no high precision monitoring, which means the low false alarm rate, and for data transmission function and low complexity, the researchers designed a partial discharge monitoring on transformer and early warning system based on ZigBee, using ZigBee wireless will be good for transformer partial discharge monitoring system from the spot of partial discharge detection signal monitoring layer obtained by ZigBee radio devices transmit data to the monitoring center station side, and real-time fault monitoring of transformer partial discharge, when a fault occurs real-time alarm. The design of the system used LABVIEW as a platform to develop a strong human-computer interaction, which can simple transformer partial discharge monitoring and early warning systems. Combining with 110KV-substation the practical requirements of ZigBee hardware-based transformer partial discharge on-line monitoring and early warning systems, entailed design and research on various parts of the PC software were carried out.Finally, the researchers test and applied the new monitoring system. By the analysis of the data from the test on the artificial device while it was online, offline or pre-trial preliminary, the new monitoring system could provide a strong technical support and maintenance for the high voltage equipment.
