Research On Performance Of Buton Rock Asphalt And Modified Mixture

With the rapid development of economy, the increase of traffic flow day by day, vehicle axle load increasing, the usability of pavement is more and more concerned. In order to improve pavement performance and prolong service life of pavement, the modified asphalt cement plays an important role. The commonly used material is polymer modifier represented by SBS. But research shows that the polymer modified asphalt has a high preparation cost, complicated modification n technology, and it has a poor effect when mixed with matrix asphalt, so the polymer modifier is very awkward that limits its wide application. As a kind of different from polymer modified asphalt, the Buton Rock Asphalt produced in Indonesia is a kind of native rock asphalt modifier, which began to appear sorts of pavement engineering because its well pavement performance, simple and convenient process technique, and rational economy. Concerning this issue, this article analysis and summarize correlative technology results home and abroad, which include material property of The Buton Rock Asphalt, pavement performance of modified asphalt mixture, construction technological process, economic and social benefits and so on.By analysis the properties and main component of the Buton Rock Asphalt, it can ensure pavement performance of the Buton Rock Asphalt in theory. Accord with the test of penetration, softening point, ductility of asphalt and the rolling thin film oven test(RTFOT), the temperature susceptibility, high temperature stability, low temperature stability and aging resistance stability of asphalt material were improved in different level because adulteration of Buton Rock Asphalt, meanwhile the degree of performance improvement has great relationship with the amount of admixture of the Buton Rock Asphalt. But because of mineral particle in the Buton Rock Asphalt would create an adverse impact to test results, it is also needed to further consult the result of test of the Buton Rock Asphalt. Based on above experience, this article carried out mix design of Buton Rock Asphalt modified mixture is 25% of the Buton Rock Asphalt.Through the research results of pavement performance with different amount of admixture of The Buton Rock Asphalt, it shows various measures of asphalt mixture with the Buton Rock Asphalt all satisfy the requirements of regulation and up to standard of modified asphalt mixture. However, the high temperature stabilization, low-temperature cracking resistance and water resistant damaging of asphalt mixture were improved to different degree. The article draws a conclusion which the best amount of admixture of the Buton Rock Asphalt is 25%.This article studies the construction technological process of the Buton Rock Asphalt modified mixture, it focuses on production process, transportation, paving and rolling process. At last, the analysis of economic and social benefits shows the Buton Rock Asphalt could improve pavement performance and road service level, while it conform to the energy-saving and environment-protection requirements. It also has favorable economic and social benefits and extensive application prospects.
