Reliability allocation is an important aspect of system reliability design. The reliability of the system will be assigned to each subsystem of the system, and eventually to each unit of the system according to certain criteria, which can be used to guide the development of the product or subsystem of the product and also meet customer needs.This paper outlines the current situation and development trends of domestic and overseas mechanical system reliability allocation methods, compares the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and the scope of application of these methods. At the same time, reliability allocation carried out step by step for aviation engine and manual transmission. This paper firstly assigns the reliability of the system to compressor, turbine, combustion chamber, nozzle, accessory of the aviation engine by using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. For manual transmissions, this paper determines the failure rate weight of each gear depending on using frequency of each gear and gets the reliability allocation of each gear. The second stage this paper uses the three-parameter cost function model, build the nonlinear programming model with a target of minimum total cost, and gets the reliability distribution value of each component by using laser multiplier method. Then this paper optimizes the result of reliability allocation by taking relevant failure problem into account.This paper uses the object-oriented programming technology and develops an aviation engine and manual transmission reliability allocation software based on Visual Basic 6.0. The software includes parameters input module, displaying module and saving modules, etc. Software interface is simple and structure is reasonable, operated fast, make the result accurately. This article considered auto biaxial five gear transmission reliability allocation is established considering the gear parts, and the distribution of results are compared with those of list such as distribution method, considering the gear have more reasonable conclusions.
