On New Year’s Day or other festivals, people will slow down their hurried footsteps; choose a place with pleasant weather and exquisite scenery to relax, being close to nature. Vacation tour has become the trend of international tourism development. In the tropic and coastal cities, such as Hainan Island, according to the figures, the number of the whole province accommodating tourists has increased from 20.6 million to about 33.204 million for the recent 5 years, accumulating to reach 132.193 million, averaging up to 12.5 percent each year. The tourism income even achieved 136.484 billion in five years, averaging up to 17.2 percent each year. Naturally, with the increasing demand to tourism, resort hotels’design develops accordingly, presenting a vivifying prospect.I study how the design of resort hotels in the tropical and coastal cities presents the characteristics of regional and historic culture, which is different from other regions through the design skill of different decorative material, interior landscaping and plant furnishing, combining regional culture and folk custom, etc. Resort hotels are aimed at returning to nature and relaxing the mind, satisfying the customers’experience as entry point, and letting the customers to enjoy the natural and relaxing living condition. To proceed from this point in creating indoor environment atmosphere is to manifest the features of people and nature oriented, and the harmony between man and nature, which promotes resort hotels of green ecotype.As we know, the famous Nanshan tree house locates in the scenic spot of Nanshan Buddhism cultural park of Sanya, Hainan. It is special for its hotel and interior design coordinating and unifying with the scenic spot, which integrates the scenery with the building, and perfectly interprets the harmonious integration between building and environment. To design the green ecotype resort hotels with people orientation, local characteristics and advocating nature, through detailed field visit which to observe its decorative material and interior landscaping with regional characteristics, along with plant arrangements according to the local conditions, using the design of resort hotels as reference and blending modern people’s demand and taste skillfully. |
