Now the national economy is growing as well as the highway industry. During the operation of highway, the cars have large vehicle load and high speed, so there will be many engineering problems exposed. Especially it may cause vehicle bumps at the bridge head. If the degree of compaction at bridge abutment retailing backwall can not reach the requirements, there will be a large settlement between the road and bridge abutment, which may cause a great threat to traffic safety and comfort. During the construction process, the retailing backwall is constructed after the bridge structure. When we compact the soil of the retailing backwall, we should ensure that the scope of the compaction machinery could affect the subgrade, at the same time, the impact energy can not damage the bridge structure. But in the actual project, the scope of the retailing backwall is relatively small, which increases the difficulty to the large compaction machine. On the other hand, the small compaction machine can not reach the requirements of retailing backwall. So the retailing backwall subgrade filling is a difficult process.Nowadays, we usually use bridges and culverts abutment back detection data to assess the backfill quality of retailing backwall. At present, backfill quality detection has become fundamental and crucial method of retailing backwall subgrade construction control and construction, The civil engineering at home and abroad have began to emphasize on the backfill of retailing backwall gradually. In order to ensure the construction quality and improve progress, we should use the reasonable method to check the backfill quality. However, our country hasn’t pay attention to the method of backfill, which lead to the vehicle bump at bridge head. In order to meet the requirements of the development of highway construction in our country, we must control the quality of backfill. As a result,we can ensure the quality of highway and promote the rapid development of road industry in our country.This paper discusses the application of high speed compactor in the backfill of retailing backwall and the basic principle and construction method. Through software simulation and field test, we have a comprehensive analysis on the effect of strike and influence of the high speed compactor. At the same time, we get detailed and reliable data through field test. By analyzing these data, we summarized the mechanism and the effect of construction and construction methods of high speed compactor. In addition, the paper analysis the construction quality detection and high speed compactor in the backfill of retailing backwall and construction parameters and construction technology to meet the construction requirements.
