It is a common problem during the construction of mountainous roads that the filling material of subgrade in village is lack currently. At the same time, the large quantities of large diameter rubble produced by tunneling and excavation are too large to be used,hence,they were disposed of waste and as a result of contaminating the ecological environment. This paper is based on ordinary embankment,using the laying construction methods to explore the applicability of filling embankment in use of large particle size rubble,and identifies a reasonable position of large diameter rubble laying in the embankment, and proposed the embankment laying construction technology including large diameter rubble.The main contents and results of this study include the following six aspects:(1)The study determines the feasibility of large diameter rubble for filling embankment. Construction methods using cloth put through experiments and numerical simulation study on the impact of large diameter stone subgrade compaction and the impact of the large size of the location of the stone embankment stability testing and final Test Road site containing large grains settlement observation proved diameter stone embankment of acceptable quality, large diameter stone can be used for embankment construction.(2)To draw a conclusion by analyzing laboratory experiment and numerical simulation data. By controlling the separation distance of large diameter rubbles to be greater than the size of compaction equipment, can ensure the compaction of roadbed filling. The experimental results show that its surrounding area doesnot exist loose region which is difficult to compact.(3) The minimum embedment depth analysis of the large size of rubble under dynamic load on the vehicle. To ensure the stability of containing large diameter stone embankment, through research vehicle shock loads on roads affected, determine when under the influence of dynamic loads on semi-rigid pavement subgrade work area to determine laying large diameter stone dike from the road surface minimum distance. Finalize the design in general highway pavement structure layer, the large size of rubble from the road surface to the top surface of a minimum height of 1.5m, not stone laying large diameter within that range 1.5m below the top surface of the road.(4) To research laying parameters of large diameter rubble placed in the roadbed. After analysing the laying positional relationship in vertical and horizontal directions of large diameter rubble embankment,and then explore the best way of laying and filling forms of the large diameter stone in consideration of the construction economical.We analyzes the influence of its stability in slope position on the embankment. By analyzing the characteristics of embankment containing the large diameter rubble, the author study the stability of the slope in the case of including large diameter ones.To compared the different locations of the large size of rubble, the author determine ultra older stone embankment slope slip line is laying its best position.(5) This paper analyzes the characteristics of large diameter rubble and design its laying construction technology to optimize the stratified paving, leveling and compaction,etc.The study also involved detection methods of embankment’s construction quality including large diameter rubble.
