Double-skin fa?ade(DSF) not only has a beautiful appearance, but also has a good heat insulation performance in summer and heat storage performance in winter, so it is very suitable for different areas. Architecture shade is a very effective method for building energy efficiency, and the sunshade combined with DSF will derive a new form of shading that is namely middle shade. Study the influences of DSF with middle shade on the thermal environment is a theoretical basic for the development of DSF in the future.This paper was based on hot summer and cold winter areas built a one-room model of DSF with middle shade in an energy saving experiment center, and made sure the choices of turbulence model, wall function, radiation model and boundary conditions, that will save calculation time and at the same time ensure the accuracy of calculations.Firstly,based on the summer weather of Tianjin region, this paper chose the factors of shade positions, shutter angles and solar radiation to analysis the temperature and velocity of indoor room and cavity. The results show that the temperature will reduce with the increase of shutter angles and the inward moving of middle shade, besides, the positions impact it more.Secondly, a 3D dynamic simulation was made in summer solstice. The results show that the temperature will reduce after installing the middle shade, and indoor temperature is lower than cavity temperature, which is less affected by the changes of shade.Last, based on the winter and transition season weather conditions in Tianjin, this paper made the dynamic simulation for whether the DSF had the middle shade or not and the positions of the middle shade, to analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the middle shade. The results show that the cavity temperature is higher than the indoor temperature in the daytime, and the indoor temperature will lower and lower with the inward moving of middle shade. In the nighttime, the above situations will become opposite. In addition, before getting into the summer, a big temperature rise is appeared in the room, so open the middle shade will improve the comfort of indoor environment.The work of this paper can provide a reference in the analysis of design and use of DSF with middle shade for hot summer and cold winter areas.
