In recent years, with the accelerated progress of urbanization, shortage of urban land and fierce commercial competition make the high-rise buildings to develop in the direction of multi-functional. Due to the necessity of using function, a number of annex buildings with podium for commercial purposes is arranged on one side or both sides. And because of the different height storey, the split-structure is formed. The split-level makes the structure and partial components in force and deformation generate a lot of changes and this kind of difference brings new research value to the practical engineering structural design.Based on a specific project, the author uses the finite element analysis software SAP2000 to do the modeling calculation in order to find the difference on the force and deformation of the structure between the two conditions of normal an split-level structure. The comparison of results indicate that there is no obvious change about the force and deformation of the whole structure influenced by split-level. But the force and deformation of local components will produce great changes.By changing the volume of podium, the author discusses the difference on the force and deformation of the structure by split-level height and explore its regularity. The results show that, with the change of split-level height owning to the split-level between podium and the body, the floor shear at the distribution proportion between the groups will change under two horizontal seismic action. At the same time, the author discusses the difference on the force and deformation of the structure when the split-level position is changed. The results indicate that, there is no obvious change about the force and deformation of the structure by the change of split-level position. Finally, the author selects three seismic waves with site of the actual project and use analysis software SAP2000 for the elastic dynamic analysis under multi-case earthquake and compare the difference of results between dynamic analysis and spectrum analysis, indicating the necessity of using time-history analysis to complementally analyze the structure. Besides, the author also use SAP2000 for the evaluation of seismic performance of the project under rare earthquake.
