According to related statistics, both urban and rural construction area of about 50 billion square meters, more than 95% of high-energy buildings, an annual housing construction area of about 2 billion square meters, only about 5% of the building can meet building energy efficiency standards. In the past decade, the rapid development of the economy to make the building energy consumption has accounted for 40% of total energy consumption, so how new buildings can be reduced heating and air conditioning loads, thereby building a greater extent to reduce our own energy consumption building energy conservation technology that must now seriously consideration.As a relatively good energy saving effect of glass--LOW-E glass has good insulation properties, while it is calculated by the formula also has good economic, get a little used in today’s construction industry. However, due to the higher cost of LOW-E glass, so that construction costs increase, it is not fully welcomed by developers; at the same time, LOW-E glass itself a wide range of how effective choice applies to all regions of the structure of the building envelope the LOW-E glass is also constrained core elements of a comprehensive development and its applications. China’s vast territory, different climate partitions, different orientations of the building envelope structure should select the appropriate type LOW-E glass, it is very worthy of study. And Xi’an in cold areas, how to select suitable LOW-E glass in Xi’an building envelope structure, highlighting its good energy saving effect, has become an important aspect of current research building energy-saving technologies in Xi’an.The study adopted the method of combining theory with practice, firstly, LOW-E glass were analyzed in theory thermal performance, familiar with the production process LOW-E glass, to fully understand the various constituent materials LOW-E glass and composition form, select the applicable calculation LOW-E glass types for subsequent simulation; secondly, the use of energy simulation software to calculate DeST in Xi’an typical residential buildings and public buildings for the cumulative annual energy consumption of building simulation, compare the type LOW-E energy difference of glass and different types of LOW-E glass room of the building toward the annual cumulative impact of different energy, then come to apply to the construction of Xi’an LOW-E glass type external structure, while the different rooms of the building toward making differences in the choice of the applicable type LOW-E glass. We hope that the rest of the country studies LOW-E glass learn to play the role in the applicability of the building envelope structure.In addition, the study conducting simulation-based calculation, using the method of field testing of test LOW-E glass energy savings in public buildings in Xi’an, and calculated by the DEST simulation software to verify the results were compared with the measured results consistency, so that the conclusions of this study have rigor.
